Deserted Digital - 17" x 14.5" Print
Spring 2018 Art Print Series - "Deserted Digital"
One of four digital paintings produced in the colder months of 2017 / 2018. This one began during a difficult time in my life, I had just moved to a house closer to the city, and at the time was unemployed, surviving off a few commissions here and there. I was hardly able to afford food in this time, or gas to get anywhere, as rent was taking up most of my resources and it was truly a struggle. I'm thankful that I was supported in the way that I was during that time, otherwise I would not still be living and working here in this studio. This painting reflects a lot of the challenges that I faced in that time frame, in a more "metaphorical" sense, but also very literal because it felt like a long, hard journey through the desert with the destination in sight but no real plan for once I got there. Funny story - I got employed full time as a marketing artist two days before officially finishing this painting, and now a copy of this print rests in my office to remind me of the more arduous times.
